"Envy is a waste of time." Do you agree or disagree? Why?

I have to agree that envy is a waste of time, because for example if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend and you have envy over their ex boyfriend or girlfriend, because they are still good friends, it could be nothing and it is better to talk about with the person, calmly and not out of jealousy. Envy is just a way to destroy a friendship, a relationship. Envy gets you no where.
