Double Consciousness

I think it is when a person acts how others see him, so you know how people are saying that person is like this and they do this, well a person hears these things and they start to act like it, their words become him. For example a person tell this other person he is stupid and other people tell him the same thing, so that guy might start to act stupid, because that is how people see him.
